Massive Adaptive Internet VIdeo STreaming Using the Cloud

The “Cisco Visual Index” predicts that the video traffic will constitute approximately 86% of global Internet traffic in 2016. The "Massive Adaptive Internet video streaming using the cloud" (MAIVISTO) aims at overcoming the state of the art in the field of video streaming distribution over the Internet using the Cloud Computing infrastructure. We will study DASH compliant  stream-switching techniques, a control plane for  intra-cloud and inter-clouds orchestration, and techniques for  ranking and recommendation of video content.
